[...] The siren call of the system I sistemi ben progettati non sono in realtà progettati. Sono prodotti dell’evoluzione. […] [...]

Simon: Agree. Business mags celebrate "fast" the same way entertainment tabloids celebrate "young." Our culture is obsessed with beginnings, transformations, and spectacular failures because it's dramatic and fresh. A journeyman takes time to observe and distill...and who has time for that?

Fast Company should have a new awards programme - the Slow 150...better still they could re-name the Mag.
Its not about being slow at innovation, just being patient about the returns and watching for opportunities along the way.
Great post thanks.

I am not a "slow" fan. I am definitely the opposite of the "slow" movement, but I do need to slow down a bit as my friend Mark has suggested. Talking about "slow", the two concepts of SLOW + LOCAL are now converging in what NY Times called "Slow Design". Good read.

Oi. How true. No one wants to wait.

It's like kids who leave their parent's home only to expect the same luxuries around them. That you have to work and wait for these seems to have become an ironic notion.

I wish more people would read "In Praise of Slow" by Carl Honore and apply his thesis to systems and all aspects of business.
